SKIP PARKING FEES AND RIDESHARE COSTS & LET MARTA DO THE DRIVING TO THE AIRPORT
ATLANTA – The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) is encouraging air travelers to avoid traffic, skip the high costs of parking, and take the train to the plane for their next trip. MARTA remains the most affordable, convenient, and stress-free way to reach Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
“MARTA is one of only a few public transit systems in the world that take customers directly into the Airport,” said MARTA CEO and General Manager Collie Greenwood. “Meanwhile, our fares and daily parking rates have remained the same for well over a decade. We want to remind air travelers that in a time of rising prices, their best option is let MARTA do the driving to the Airport.”
While rideshare services from Downtown Atlanta can average $74 roundtrip, MARTA riders pay just $5 for a roundtrip fare and can park at select MARTA stations for as low as $5 per day.
Compare the costs:
- MARTA – $5 roundtrip fare + $5/day parking at Dunwoody, Medical Center, Kensington, Lenox, and Sandy Springs Stations or $8/day parking North Springs, Doraville, Lindbergh Center & College Park Stations
- New Airport Parking Fee – Cost of gas + $15+/day parking
- Rideshare (average Uber ride from Downtown Atlanta) – $74 roundtrip
For example, a traveler heading out of town for a 7-day trip could spend $5 to ride MARTA to and from the Airport, or as little as $40 to park and ride, leaving them with more money in their pocket and one less thing to worry about during their trip.
With the savings, customers can treat themselves to another souvenir or a nice dinner out while on vacation or pick up some great gifts for themselves and loved ones at ItsMARTAMerch.com.
Last year, MARTA completed significant renovations to Airport Station that included installation of new terrazzo flooring and platform pavers; the repair, sealing, and painting of track and concourse walls; and preparation for the installation of a new canopy.
MARTA customers can board the Red or Gold Line southbound for direct access into the Airport terminal.
The easiest way to pay is with the Breeze Mobile 2.0 app, available for download on all major platforms. Riders can also purchase Breeze tickets or reloadable Breeze cards at any MARTA station.
